News from Coach P

I think our teams did not perform as well as we had expected today.  Granted it has been an emotional week, but we were hoping to do better in the team results.  That said there were some personal records today and any day an athlete can get one of those it is a good day.  Much work to be done this week.

I have to say thank you to all those that attended the reception for Tricia at Fryes.  It was a difficult night for Tricia, but one that she cherishes.  Thanks to all the parents that came out and “ran” the meet today.  You will NEVER know how nice it was not to have to worry about the meet while trying to coach today.  I am hesitant to start naming names, so for give me if I forget someone, but have to give shout out to Mary Lehoczky, Peter and Jill Daniel, Barb Nichols, Amy Frye, Bev McKittrick, Cathy Kerr, and Jennifer Stradinger.  If not for this committee of hard workers today would not have happened.   And a special thanks to Coach Chaffee for stepping up and helping this week.  His knowledge and willingness to get to work is always an inspiration to me!

Only VARSITY runs at regionals.  The regional team will be named by tomorrow nite.  We will look at the results of the season meets, consider injuries, and whether you are coming on strong or fading as the season progressed to best determine who will represent East at regionals.

What happens next?  We start turning in uniforms for the JV and C teams… any day after school.  Please DO NOT  hand them to a teammate to turn in.  AND DO NOT  just leave them at the “track and xc office” door.  Every year we loose a few uniforms that way.  The BEST thing to do is staple your name to the uniform so that you get credit for turning them in and you won’t have to pay for them.

Our Banquet is Thursday NOV 3 in the school cafeteria.
